Is This Anyway to Fall Asleep?

Not only hopping up to blog every five minutes, but watching this s%^t (and I say that last word in the spirit of Gordon Ramsay):

Those things she is stuffing in her mouth and her eyes are Assamese chilies that are 200 times hotter than jalepeños!

Haha, I know the feeling. Luckily, I've gotten a good handle on staying off the internet when I should be doing something else.

When I was in the Navy we stayed in Goa for 2 weeks and a few of us got a hold of some of these chilies (they called it something different, though). We had a bet between about 8 of us who could down the most in 5 minutes. Not a single one of us got through one chili. I ended up getting the hiccups for about 3 hours afterward.

I love hot foods and often eat pickled jalapenos and carrots when I eat mexican food (which is pretty hot), but these chilies are not to be messed with. They're HOTTT!

    I am unimpressed.

My father eats Naga Jolokia chili every morning.

It's like Steven Seagal in Machete, when he was standing with a sword stabbed into his tummy. "I could kill you right now. This? This here? This is nothing."

  4. But Prateek, he doesn't eat 49 of them in 2 minutes, does he?

I just wanted to add that while I was in the service part of my training was to be pepper sprayed in the face (eyes open). I've had this done about half a dozen times and it is truly awful. How that woman rubbed those peppers on her eyes without even flinching is beyond me.

Granted, the first time I got pepper sprayed was far worse than the last time, but I still ran around shrieking like a little girl with every fluid in my head running freely. In fact, when people are qualifying for this training, it usually causes an audience to gather. It may seem sick and twisted, but it always makes for a good show. Haha!

This woman's tolerance for pain (and, apparently that of Prateek's father) is far greater than mine. After the original bet described above failed without a winner we instead decided to see who could eat the most in one sitting. I almost got two of them down and that was it for me. However, what goes in must come out-- never forget that!

    Lucky me. LOL

  6. Whoa whoa whoa, where do you get off making cardinal, interpersonal comparisons of spiciness? Everyone knows that spicyness is subjective and purely ordinal. What next, I mean, cardinal values for friendship?

I guess that's what I get for opening my big mouth. LOL

Am I being paranoid when I say that every time I see Silas' avatar that I get the feeling that he's laughing at me?
    :)

  9. Yeah, I need less attention-drawing pic ... look for an update soon.

No, there's nothing wrong with the pic. It just looks like you're laughing, is all. Anytime you've ever used sarcasm or made a joke, I see it and it makes me laugh.

Maybe you can make avatars to match the contexts of your comments. You can do the hand on chin and looking into the heavens for philosophical posts, angry Silas for angry posts, furrowed brow/pointing finger Silas for declarative posts, and of course laughing Silas for happy posts-- the possibilities are endless. Automate it so it becomes an emotitar.

Sure, it's a dumb idea and it will make it harder for you to be taken seriously, but I think it would be hilarious. :)
